The Ex-Washigton DC mayor who won re-election after a drug arrest dies at 78years.
He was a Democrat who served three
terms as DC Mayor between 1979 and 1979. Mr. Barry was arrested in 1990
by FBI and tried on drug charges. He was convicted on a single count
charge of possession.
BBC News
reported that the DC council spokesman said Mr. Barry died overnight at
a Washington DC Hospital. It was reported that he a had kidney problems
as a result of diabetes and high blood pressure.
Despite his personal life's problem, he remained a strong following in DC. Rest In Peace Barry!
