What You Should Know About Instagram - Data usage

This post is targeted at Nigerians especially those using android devices. Most have complained their data (popularly known as MB) doesn't last the way it should. Have seen people larment how they finished 1GB of data within a week without doing any download. They be like "I was only chatting and view picture on Instagram now!

Unknown to most people, Android apps have a lot of background process and preset activities. On this post, I will share how to minimize and say no more to your data finishing before time.

Instagram,  like other apps preloads videos either you want to watch the video or not. The moment u open your Instagram app, it downloads any video posted automatically. Follow the steps below to change that permanently. This option gives you the opportunity to only watch videos you wish to.

  1. Open 'settings' by clicking the top right corner of the app. (circled with red in the picture below)

2. Scroll down the settings page and click on 'videos' (circled with red in the picture below)

3. On the next screen. Select 'Preload on WiFi only' (circled with red in the picture below). This part means videos will only be downloaded and played automatically only when you are using a wireless connection instead of your mobile data.

I believe this helps. You can drop your comments if you have any question regarding other applications. Thanks.... Read and share with your friends.
