Mrs. Esther Nnamdi Ogbue and the NNPC Spokesman, Mr. Ohi Alegbe while addressing the issue of fuel scarcity in Nigeria on Abuja FM on say the PPMC's job is to supply which they are working hard towards.

"We have been pushing 35 million litres every day to the market and there's no reason why there shouldn't be fuel" - MD, PPMC
Mrs. Nnamdi also added that it is very clear the scarcity is artificial. Sharing her experience at a filling station in Suleja, "in Suleja,we realised there's fuel in tanks but stations weren't selling. I had to personally open up the tanks and the queues disappeared". It is as a result of this situation that the PPMC invited the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate into the actions of filling station owners as their action is a clear case of economic sabotage.

Alegbe says refineries in the country have not had turnaround maintenance for the past 15years which should be done every two years.

"The NNPC Group Managing Director toured the refineries and has set a deadline of December  for the refineries to produce optimally. If that doesn't work, these refineries will be shut for a year to undergo comprehensive rehabilitation" - Alegbe

Speaking on petroleum distribution and pricing in Nigeria, the PPMC is working to break the bad habit.
