It was reported that the mother had explained to him that she does not have much but still gave him a sum of N200 to buy food. He however rejected that and vowed to kill her. He reportedly broke a bottle and threatened to kill her.
In her statement, she said she sneaked out to call the vigilante group members beside her house to come to her rescue. On getting there, the deceased reportedly attacked two of the members and told the commanger, Quadri Adesina that he does not fear his gun. He tried to wrestle him and take the gun from him but the gun accidentally discharged a bullet into his thigh.
"His death is a relief to me and the family. He was too troublesome. There was a time he beat up an OOodua People's Congress member while we were living in Idimu (Lagus). I spent a lot of money on the man's treatment". These are some of the statements by the deceased mother.
