Damaturu, Yobe state capital has been attacked today by the dreaded terrorist group, Boko Haram. A military source told The Punch the group stormed the town from Gubja.
The attack happened as early as 4am on Monday. It was also reported that military jet has been deployed to push back the insurgents and the situation is now under control. As at the time of this report. The number of casualties is unknown.
The residents of the town werenwoken up by gunshots. Many people are said to have been killed along with some policemen during crossfire with the insurgents.
