[Celebrating Corruption] Supporters Breached Airport Fence to Welcome Lamido

Larger percentage of Nigerians will tell you corruption and bad leaders are our natural disasters. This, I grew up to see as true with the way we celebrate those found wanting or convicted for one corruption charges or the other.

Jigawa former Governor, Sule Lamido

Earlier in the week, Ex-Governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido and his two sons were ordered to be detained for two months in jail over alleged corruption charges of billions of naira while he was Governor for eight years.

Meanwhile, another  high court in Abuja granted him bail; now I can tell you the greatest compounding factor to Nigeria's problem sometimes is our judiciary system.

Be that as it may. He was granted bail and upon his arrival at Kano Airport, his supporters or should I say those he spent the money on breached the perimeter fence of the Kano airport to welcome him.

This is not the first of time of such welcome party for people found wanting as we have seen in the case of Bode George some years back.

We throw party and organize special celebrations for people who siphon our money but we find it hard to celebrate the real heroes of Nigeria. Citizens are doing Nigeria proud all the time but the recognition and national honors are mostly for the political class.

God bless Nigeria, I rest my pen here for now.
