Chief Alamieyeseigha, former Governor of Bayelsa state from May 29, 1999 to December 9, 2005 is dead. He reportedly went into coma two days ago and later died of cardiac arrest today at the University of Portharcourt teaching hospital.
Chief Alamieyeseigha had cases of corruption and money laundering in thr past. He dramatically jumped bail in London and returned to Nigeria and had not made any public comment and also refused summon for trial since then.
He was born on November 16, 1962 and served in different capacities including the Airforce where he retired as a Squadron Leader in 1992.
