The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the inconclusive elections in Kogi state, Abubakar Audu is dead.
Audu's death came barely few hours after the conclusion of the Governorship elections in his stare which was declared inconclusive by INEC. He was in the lead according to results released by INEC but supplementary elections have been slated for later date to be announced by INEC.
APC through its official Twitter handle confirmed the death of the gubernatorial candidate. See screenshot below.
Audu was born in 1947 and has been Kogi state governor twice in January 1992 to November 1993. His second tenure was between 29 May, 1999 to 29 May, 2003. Audu is to be buried in his hometown tomorrow according to Islamic rites.
