Boko Haram: Troops suffer minor setback, one soldier missing

Troops of the Nigerian Army fighting the dreaded terrorist group, Boko Haram suffered a minor setback on Friday when a truck conveying foodstuffs to the soldiers in Ngurosoye was attacked. 


The area which had been cleared of the terrorists however still has some of the terrorists' elements laying ambush around the area. Search and rescue after the ambush led to the discovery of a soldier and a civilian JTF member corpses. 

Some soldiers conveying foodstuffs to troops were ambushed along Bama-Ngurosoye by suspected Boko Haram elements on Thursday.

A search and rescue team that was sent to Bokos general area has recovered corpses of a soldier and a civilian JTF, as well 6 burnt AK-47 rifles. The team has also intensified search for a missing soldier. The Explosive Ordinance Device element on the team have discovered and detonated an Improvised Explosive Device buried along the road.

The Nigerian Army still reiterates its commitment to flushing and wiping out the terrorists despite the unfortunate incident. Soldiers on the frontline of Operation Lafiya Dole still have their morales high.
