The first case of Lassa fever has now been confirmed in Lagos state, Southwest Nigeria. The confirmation has now being the total number of affected states to eleven (11).
The male patient who was confirmed to have contacted the virus is now under isolation at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) after his status was confirmed on Friday evening.
When the patient was brought in on Thursday, he presented with high grade fever, severe headache , and bleeding from d nose. The management of LUTH says it is in top of the situation and advises general public to keep clean environment and no reason to panic.
