Party Sponsorship: Buhari refuses to fund APC

The Nigeria's ruling party,  All Progressives Congress (APC) bid to get funds from the President to run the party has met a refusal. 


According to a report by THISDAY Newspaper, the President said the APC should learn from the past administration's party, PDP mistakes for messing with public funds to run party campaigns as he does not want the party (APC) which is running a corrective government to go along the same path. 

Buhari was also reported to have advised the party to look inward and generate funds through membership fees and donations, reported by DailyPost.

It can be recalled that the president was in a closed-door meeting with some party chieftains last week where they tried convincing the President to fund the party.
