"Street credibility was first recorded with 9ice’s chorus and verse at Codedtunes studio in Akoka then we took a mini studio to 2Baba who was so gracious to record without any drama. The hotel we recorded 2Babas part was in Festac (Comfort suite if I remember well)
Myself, 9ice and Modef who was the manager drove down to Festac for the recording. It was an interesting session but not dramatic. 2Baba also was kind enough to be in the video without any drama. 2Baba’s Humility is next to non.
2Baba was surrounded by lots of friends that night which is something lacking today. Festac was a Mecca for the music industry then. That night was fun and the way 2Baba recorded was so random but INTENTIONAL.
I think @AOT2 [Ayomide Tayo] needs to write an exposition on the impact of Festac town on Afrobeats!!! Festac gave us plantation bois, ruff rugged and raw, Alabai, Soundsultan, W4, Azadus and many super stars".
